POD WEEKLY #34
LOCAL MERCH PROBLEMS
Last week, we discussed using print-on-demand to find ways to work with local businesses, providing both upfront consulting fees and ongoing revenue from t-shirt sales. We heard back from some readers with some questions.
One of the biggest concerns was why local businesses would be willing to pay someone else to do this for them rather than doing it on their own. There are many reasons, including owners and managers not having enough time, not knowing about the overhead-free possibilities of print-on-demand, lack of knowledge of how to get it done, etc.
Regardless of the reason, the point is that there is an opportunity to work with local businesses by providing value. Look for the businesses that are already running ads and promotions, brainstorm ways that print-on-demand could benefit them, and find a way to present the opportunity.
As we mentioned, Mike Gual has used this method to earn over $400,000 in royalties in a single month. Of course, he didn’t start there and only found his way by looking at how local businesses could benefit from print-on-demand.
— As we’ve discussed numerous times, it’s tough to stand out on sites like Merch by Amazon given the ever-growing number of sellers. Listen to this interview to get tips on how to build your own niche websites and drive your own traffic.
